The Tiny One, With Not So Tiny Dreams
It was six years ago a flash mob was taken place in Westfield Mall Downtown, Auckland, New Zealand by the students of University of Auckland. Many noticed a cute tiny girl dancing along with the mob.
After a year a youtube video was trending all around for a song Tum Hi Ho – Aashiqui 2 Cover song, sung by this girl and it got a whopping three million YouTube videos. It is none other than Shirley Setia.
She took part in a contest conducted by T-Series. Her YouTube entry (Tum Hi Ho – Aashiqui 2) was recorded in her bedroom while she was wearing pajamas. This earned her the sobriquet “Pyjama popstar” by the New Zealand Herald.
Shirley Setia is a YouTube sensation and currently Shirley has 2.7 YouTube subscribers. Now she is one of the top YouTuber around the world.
Family: Shirley Setia was born in Daman on 2nd July 1993 to Indian parents and raised in Auckland, New Zealand. Her Father was a businessman and her mother was a homemaker She has a younger brother named Shane.
Education: Shirley did her schooling in Auckland, New Zealand and went on to the University of Auckland to study Commerce and worked briefly as an intern and worked as a part-time radio jockey.
From being described as “Bollywood’s Next Big Singing Sensation” by Forbes Magazine to earning the title ‘Pyjama Popstar’ by New Zealand Herald, Shirley Setia is today ‘The Millennial Queen’.
